I do a lot of long distance swimming, especially in the summer months.

I have swum the Channel and  my first swim last year was a twenty-four mile race across Tampa Bay  in America. I found that I wasn’t as tired the day after the race but I thought it might have been the fact that the water was so warm over there.

The real test came last summer when I was back in the cold water.  After swimming  Windermere in the Lake District, and  I definitely found that I feel much less achy the day after the event. I did 15 competitive events last year and found the same thing, the next day was not nearly so bad.
